There are typical barriers which exist in any organization which inhibit implementation of change--even change brought about due to exposure to new theories, philosophies and concepts (such as lean manufacturing).

We are all familiar with many of them. NIH means "not invented here."

As we seek to implement change, we must recognize and address these barriers.
