View Full Version : 8.2.2.2 Manufacturing Process Audits - Multiple Manufacturing Lines

Heres the concern I have with this one and any guidance as always is appreciated.
We are a manufacturing facility with multiple production lines producing parts for our final product. Is this requirement telling me that each one of these lines need to be internally audited? Or can we say that all lines are similar and only audit a few during our audits?
How have you handled this requirement in your facilities?

PeteHi Pete,
We have a similiar situation. What we have done is determine how many different mfg. processes we have (for ex. presses = 1 audit, spot welding = 1 audit) we may have 30 presses, but one audit to cover the press area (and no we don't look at EACH press) but we do look at the inputs and outputs to that department. Our external auditor has accepted this. Hopes this helps some.

If you are automotive, Yes each process is required to be audited. The requirement of TS2 is "The organization shall audit each manufacturing process to determine its effectiveness".
