Wes Bucey 31st December 2004, 07:59 PM Let's hear it folks - What are your resolutions this year?In all my life, I never made a New Year's Resolution. It was never a tradition in my family on either parent's side of the family tree during my lifetime. Some of the family that have remained in the eastern and southern states maintain a tradition of cleaning house before New Year's Eve church services and settling all debts (fiscal, social, and emotional) before the New Year begins. I don't see a point to make them if the point is to break them, which seems to be the point in U.S. culture. I suspect it was not always so however....... All we can do is RESOLVE to be good neighbors, in some way, to those affected when there is destruction and to be RESOLUTE in our kindness and compassion towards each other. :agree: :) |
