View Full Version : New division / Different owners - Quality policy - Different signatures/logos/header

We are a multi-site 2nd tier automotive supplier. We currently have 3 divisions certified to TS16949:2002 (for a year now). We recently opened another division out of our state that will be added to our TS scope, eventually.

The problem: Our 3 divisions here are owned by one owner, we have an established corporate quality policy/goals/logos etc. The new division is a joint venture between several companies.

Can I change our quality policy for different signatures/logos/headers (the body of information will stay the same), without issues from our registrar?
Or am I making a mountain out of a molehill?

Thanks for any comments!

I have never run into that question before Teri so I can't help at all on it. I am sure if we don't get some quick answers in this thread, we can probably get some input from the registrar's thread.

Just a thought though, have you asked your current registrar for his opinion? Sometimes, the answers you get will vary from registrar to registrar.

Are the 3 current divisions under one scope and one certified quality management system? Or does each division have its own qms certifiacte and scope? How will the new, 4th division fit into the current scopes and qms?

We have 4 divisions world wide. They all have their own certificate, scope and registrar. All 4 use the same quality policy. 2 use the same quality manaul; 2 have their own quality manual. All 4 divisions are tied together by the centralized functions at the headquarters. For example, contract review is done at the corporate site for all locations. APQP and PPAP's are done at the corporate location for all sites. This makes the identification of outsourcing tricky.

All 3 divisions share a scope, certificate, manual, procedures,,,etc.
The new 4th division will share everything,,, but the quality policy, which the only change would be signatures and header, the body of information will remain the same.
