we have identified rounding of spur gear teeth as as SC characteristic, but we do not have a gage to check .....any suggestions???

Also, is it a must for stability to be done simultaneously with Gage R&R studies..or does it have to be done when the methods are standardised and parts are checked by a standard operating procedure, decided after
R& R<10%

I think the M&M company makes suc a gage. M&M may not be the company name - at Ford Sharonville they had gages they called the M&M's which, as I remember, measured these characteristics. You might call the Ford Sharonville (Ohio) plant metrology folks and ask.

By the way, Ford Sharonville is a transmission plant. They measure all sorts of stuff on gears - tooth angles, surface roughness, etc.
