Okay, a very simple Level 101 question for you. An auditor reportedly told one of my clients (during Stage 1) that they ahve not met the requirements of 4.1. According to my client, the auditor stated that what they call their support processes (document control, corrective action, etc.) are not processes, but QMS activities!

So, the simple question is....is there a difference between an process and an activity? (and yes, I understand paragraph two of .02 on page ix)

Hey Mark good to hear from you again! :bigwave: I recently sent you an email at Sherwood. I guess you didn't get it (he says noting the "formerly"). Glad to see you still visiting the Cove!

I could see document control being an activity but as far as corrective action I think the auditor is full of bunk. Pick up the AIAG Implementation guide and turn to page 174. They Specifically show Corrective and Preventive Action as a process under measurement and analysis. And guess what they also have written in text to the side .....Corrective and Preventive Action PROCESSES. Perhaps the auditor needs to take some of that ridiculously large amount of $$$$$ he got to perform the audit and buy some reading material!

DAVE!!!!

DUUUUUUH!!!!

Have your friend ask the auditor to go get analyzed and treated for whatever chemical he's using....They can call whatever they do anything they want as long as they identify, define and manage them

These are our processes

These are our activities

These are the things we do to get things done

These are our pumpkins...or whatever

Sheesh.....the auditor needs to get a grip
