For a very nice Glossary of Metrology Terms, try the [site has changed and no longer contains glossary]

Moderator comment added in edit:
Harry (see posts #3 & 4 below) has found an educational website with a pdf file that has a very comprehensive discussion of metrology, including a glossary.

It is a copyrighted ISO document and we may only link to it, not add it to our own inventory here in the Cove. That being the case, interested folks "may" want to download a copy from the link for a personal library. Like the previous link, no one knows how long it may remain "live."

The link: http://www.depi.itchihuahua.edu.mx/jrivera/introd_instru/vim.pdf (2004 draft edition 71 pp.)
http://www.bipm.org/utils/common/documents/jcgm/JCGM_200_2008.pdf (2008 final edition 104 pp.)

For future instances, we ask our Cove readers to report broken or confusing links by clicking the "report post" button in the upper right corner of the post and completing the dialog box which pops up so moderators can attend to finding a solution.

Try this: - Deleted -

Note: As I check through the link, it appears to be more of a product catalog. I believe the web-page had been redesigned and the information are no more there.

Edit: You may try the International Vocabulary of Metrology. This link should work (www.depi.itchihuahua.edu.mx/jrivera/introd_instru/vim.pdf).

That was going above and beyond, Harry. I'll clean up the first post to indicate your new link. Thank for a valuable addition to the Cove "Body of Knowledge."
