andahazy 14th February 2005, 03:17 PM I am looking for a professional speaker for an upcoming company planning conference with the theme of quality. I need someone who can EXCITE professional folks (e.g., finance, customer service, planning) about quality and INTRIGUE them into wanting more.
Any suggestions?

What an exciting prospect. There are some fascinating speakers in the quality industry. I am sure you will find many excellent suggestions here in the Cove.

Got a budget and timetable? I LOVE to talk about Quality, especially Quality Strategy and how it fits into every nook and cranny of an organization. I do keynotes, workshops, magic, games, whatever it takes to make sure everyone has some FUN while learning. I have been giving platform presentations in front of audiences ranging from one to several thousand since 1970, and have performed on radio and TV.
Steve Prevette bills himself as a passionate statistician. I'm passionate about Quality and I infect a lot of people with that passion.
Contact me through my Profile. Take a look at this thread Wes Bucey offers service as "Strategy Advisor" - Seeking Case Studies for Book (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=9117) - perhaps we could even have an arrangement with your organization for follow-through as a case study for my book.
Scott Catron 14th February 2005, 04:05 PM andahazy, I think Wes would be a good candidate. He's pretty entertaining here.
I do keynotes, workshops, magic, games, whatever it takes Dance of the seven veils? :biglaugh:

Have Red Beads, Will Travel.
I've done the Red Bead Experiment at a number of venues, including a Washington State Department of Transportation quality conference with 350 in attendance. I "fired" the Secretary of Transportation as a below average worker
I have about 8 hours of other materials "in the can" which I have presented in the past.
Drop me a note (steven_s_prevette@rl.gov) or call (509-373-9371) if you are interested.

First off, welcome to the Cove, andahazy. :bigwave:
I know that this will sound crazy, but what about your own President of the Company? Nothing against Wes or Steve, but your President who knows your company, knows your Customers, knows your Employees...knows your Stakeholders. S/He is your Leader...can s/he not excite and intrigue your employees? :)

hehe.. When in doubt.. think.
You cracked me up, Roxane. Maybe it's one of those prophet in his own land sort of things? Or maybe it's one of those English is not my primary language sort of things?

I know, it's a novel concept...having your Leader actually LEAD! But when our CEO talks...we listen. We can't help it. When he's honestly excited by a topic...when he honestly believes in a subject...we feel what he feels. And when our #1 from Brazil (#1 for all our company) talks...you walk away feeling inspired and motivated! These men may not necessarily be experts in Quality...but they genuinely feel motivated to achieve results...for us, for them, for our Stakeholders.
We had the Brazilian leader come to a meeting that a group of us were having in the US. I hadn't seen him in 2 years and then only for a couple of hours. He walked up to me and said "I remember you. Do you remember me?" I'm amazed I didn't trip over my tongue!
But during his speech, he talked about how we were in high-profile positions, how we were the change agents, how we had to be the cheerleaders and his representatives during this time of change...and we smiled and got excited. Then he slapped a fist into the palm of his other hand and nearly cried out "We must have discipline for this process!" Immediately, we stopped smiling, sat up straight...and focused on how we could be the best darn change agents he'd ever had.
Whenever we start to feel down in our group...tired, beat up, resolved to give up...I remind them about this speech. We smile and regain our focus.
Inspiration from a Leader...what a concept!

Wes Bucey 30th March 2005, 04:58 PM Alas! I fear the opportunity with Andahazy is forever lost! He visited once on the day he posted and never signed in after that

Neither did he respond to a direct email.
I presume he found what he needed elsewhere.
Steve Prevette 30th March 2005, 05:10 PM She and I did discuss on the phone having me do the Red Bead Experiment. I did check back last week by email to see how they were doing, and she said they decided to focus on customer service, so decided not to use the Red Beads, at least for this go-round.

After reviewing your 3 2 posts, it's obvious you are not interested in helping folks out here by answering questions or discussing topics, but rather your interest is in getting a link to your web site.
I have removed all links to your web site and am sorry that you weren't (aren't?) interested in joining in the discussions here.
