Hello Everyone,
I am in need of help once more. I need to track down a Registrar for ISO 17025. Does anyone have any suggestions where to start?
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hello Lourna, my personal experience for ISO Guide 17025 registration was with A2LA - I felt they were a little pricey, but the service they provided was fine. Their web site is: www.a2la.org.
You can also go to:www.aiag.org/quality/index.cfm & get a master list of the AIAG/PRI second party calibration lab registry for organizations recognized by the big three. PRI out of Warrendale, PA is actting as the registrar.
You can also do a search on NVLAP (National Voluntary Lab Accreditation Programs) which should take you to: ts.nist.gov/ts/htdocs/210/214/scopes/programs.htm
I suspect that Hershal will chime in with more information - he's had more experience than I have, but the above can help you start.

I agree with the A2LA being pricey (been accredited since late '99). The service..... usually good, not very pleased with them right now though. We are looking elsewhere for our next time around.
LAB, Laboratory Accreditation Bureau, is another (www.l-a-b.com).
And someone else mentioned NVLAP.
That should be a good start...

There is also ACLASS (http://www.aclasscorp.com/). I used them a couple times a couple years back in my consulting days and was quite happy with them. Quite a bit cheaper and better response to customer needs than I saw with A2LA. Was also happy with L-A-B.
I think there are a couple other similar threads here too if you search.

Lourna,
If you need an accrediting body and want to stay with a U.S. based AB.....
http://www.nacla.net (National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation)
http://www.aplac.org (Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation)
http://www.ilac.org (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation)
are the websites I recommend to select an AB.
There are currently three with international recognition: IAS, A2LA, and NVLAP. All three are direct signatories to the ILAC and APLAC arrangements. That means that all three have been evaluated by teams from other signatory bodies and found to have similar levels of technical competence and management oversight as other signatory bodies.
L-A-B is recognized by NACLA, but not by APLAC or ILAC. That is not a bad thing, it is simply stating fact. A2LA has withdrawn from NACLA and is still signatory to APLAC and ILAC.
I recommend talking to all the ABs listed in this post and in the other posts. Ask the same questions (time, estimated costs based on scope, etc.) and compare. Download the cost sheet so you have the fixed costs already, and then the variable costs are based on scope. Get your answers before you send a check to anyone.
If you service a particular industry, see if there is a specific perference on which to use.....or NOT to use!
Hope this helps.

One other point.....you may the presentation from MSC on lab accreditation helpful if you are preparing for ISO/IEC 17025.....it is on this board in the thread
Laboratory accreditation presentation from MSC (Measurement Science Conference) 2005 (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=10778)
Hope it helps.

Good Morning,
Thank you all for your input. It is greatly appreciated. Can anyone tell me anything about PJLA (Perry Johnson Laboratory Accrediation, Inc.).

I think Perry Johnson is better known for ISO 9001.
ACLASS has impressed me the most out of all the accreditation bodies.
