Hi all,

What is a good book/tool by which to learn about regression analysis, t-tests, chi-square tests, etc.? I would like to learn about the various tools available, how to use them and then interpret the results. I don't want to become a statistician, just more effective within my organization. Any ideas?

This is not a book for statistical neophytes, but its layout provides room for handwritten notes; it also has examples so you can try out the methods and see if you got them right.

But understanding application is key to using statistics effectively in the organization and for taking the CQE exam: when to use this and when to use that. Unless one is a natural or uses the methods regularly, a guide referencing antectotal situations to their statistical tools may be an important aspect that is missing from this book. For best performance I would use the blank pages behind the Index to jot down a quick guide to what kind of method applies to which circumstance.

Donald Wheeler has a new book out on data analysis that is very good. It covers most of the items you mention. Check him out at SPC Press.

Not only their program but the reference material is great.

One of the best I have seen about regresion on the net, and other stuff (like wich kind of test must be done according to what you have and want).
