View Full Version : Looking for an AS9100 Rev B book - Something that explains all the extra requirements

Can anybody recommend a good book (or document) on AS9100 Rev B? I would especially be looking for something that explains all the extra requirements above the ISO9000:2000 text that is imbedded in the spec.

Something along the lines of "ISO9001:2000 Explained" published by ASQ would be nice.

The more I read the AS spec, the more confused I am on exactly what is being asked for or required.

I have bought this book and am using now as my company is working towards AS9100 registration. It gives a pretty good explanation of requirements but is from the authors point of view. The books are pretty cheap, we bought about a dozen and gave one to each manager as part of training.
Note that the link may not open up correctly in Firefox. I had to use IE (uchh) in order to see the page correctly.

Revision B of AS9100 removed section 2, which was based on ISO 9001:2000. Section 1 (based on ISO 9001:2000 is all that remains. The technical content of the standard is unchanged.

Someone on the cove posted a Standards Comparison Matrix, which I found very useful in preparing for AS9100. I can't seem to find it, but will locate it later. Maybe someone else remembers where it is.

Perhaps you're talking about the matrices posted in this thread?

Here is a document that specifically lists all the requirements of AS9100 that are additions to ISO9001:2000
