There are a couple of SMMT Trainers who train and qualified Supplier Auditor and 3rd auditor..... yet they are also outsourced 3rd party TS auditors.

The question in my mind is when they are due for re-certification as 3rd. party auditor, (and they knew all the exam. papers) how are they assessed??? It there any transparency? Do they have to get their re-certification from IAOB or other oversighted office????

For information
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Limited (SMMT) is the UK equivalent of AIAG.

In general I think that the IATF rules include the information for qualification and re qualification of 3rd party auditors.
As I understand it they were qualified auditors due to the fact that they work or are contracted to a registration body not because they work for SMMT AIAG VDA etc.

I happen to happen to know two guys in this part of the world who are SMMT trainers. AND they are also part-time 3rd party TS auditors. Do SMMT allows this? If these two guys are up for re qualification, where should these two SMMT trainers go to? Back to SMMT for re certification? A food for thought!!
