View Full Version : What do we need from the customer requesting TS 16949 registration from us? dbzman 13th April 2005, 02:28 PM Do we have to have a written request from our customer(s) to be TS or is a verbal request acceptable? Thanks! :agree1: :agree1: D.Scott 13th April 2005, 03:42 PM James, almost anyone in the the automotive industry is eligible for certification to 16949 with or without a request from their customer. If you supply one of the Big Three direct, you MUST be certified. If there is any doubt, contact your registrar for clarification. Dave dbzman 13th April 2005, 03:58 PM What about us 2nd and 3rd tier suppliers (Heat Treating)? Thanks! D.Scott 13th April 2005, 04:08 PM 2nd and 3rd tier are not "REQUIRED" to be certified, however they certainly are allowed to become certified so long as they meet the requirements. IMHO you should have no problem finding a registrar who can then answer any specific questions regarding certification of your company. I believe I am right in stating heat treating for the automotive industry is specifically covered as an eligible supplier. Dave 1killercls 14th April 2005, 12:05 PM Medication. :biglaugh: |
