Was accredited today with TS, it was our first shot at it as well so im well chuffed because we only have a 2 man QA team and im only 18!

We had two auditors for 1.5 days which i personally think worked in our favour apposed to one assessor for 3 days.

we hit a few sticky patches that should have been raised, one example was the fact that we hadnt done an R&R on a PFI, we simply use it to measure what a spring mechanism canb withstand, anything over 35 newtons is a pass, but they just could not get our head round the fact that there are no specs etc...

A tip for anyone going for TS, give the assessor a feel good factor from day one, ie. show them customer PPMs if you have 0, make sure everything is tidy and smart and looks like its working well, that way they are less inclined to look under the carpet. I know this becuase they did not raise one NC, whereas i raised 33 OFI's/NC's in one Control Plan Audit.

Congrats!!

I am amazed, not one N/C. That is truly impressive, I had read somewhere that even the best laid plans usually end up with a few.

Go home, have a cocktail (good thing you are in UK, here you would have to celebrate with a Pepsi) kick up your feet, light a nice Cohiba and smile. :)

Yes! Congratulations. Only 18? Wow! Organization must have a lot of confidence in you and themselves now!

Goes to show: if you act confident and in control, auditors are happy to make a routine visit. Inoculation technique ("show them customer PPMs if you have 0,") is good way to demonstrate your organization is proactive about customer requirements.

If you learned these tips here. We share in your success. If not, we benefit from your experience.

Win-win! I love it!

Congratulations again. Thanks for sharing the information with us.

Cogratulations Morcs74! Zero non-conformances on a TS audit is amazing. Not to put a wet blanket on your great acheivement. But the registrar that came in to register/certify your QMS to TS are the ones that are accredited.
