I just recently joined in aero engine manufacturing unit,in machine
shop as Engineer. I am really struggling here to know what should be job of
any mechanical engineer in Machine Shop Inspection? How I can add value
to my work?
One more thing I like to know how to implement the statistical
quality control techniques in batch production? In our machine shop there are
thousand of engine components are manufactrured and batch size of every part is
also varying from 10 -50.I am trying to get exact procedure of
statistical control techniques for batch production, but I didnt got any information
about it.
I will request you to please guide me to get any short of literature
and help from you.

Welcome to the Cove, Rupesh. :bigwave: I have split and moved your post from where you originally had it, believing that you will get more (and better) responses in a forum that is directed towards SPC.

For your first question, though, regarding how to do your job...well, was this not discussed during the hiring phase? If not, perhaps you could talk with your supervisor and what his/her expectations of you are. Human Resources might also be able to help by telling you what other people, in similiar job functions, do.

The best way to learn however would be to go out on to the floor and watch...ask questions...talk to the people...find out what they like, don't like and need. That might help you figure out how you can help them. :)

Welcome,

One method we used in the past was to inspect "XX" number of samples (suited to your process) from each batch then monitor the batch to batch variation using a moving range chart. From there you can adjest sample sizes and frequencies based on the results.
