View Full Version : ISO 17025 for Academic Laboratories

Hello,

I have been hired by an academic lab as a technican and part of my job is to investigate the feasibility and value of obtaining ISO 17025 certification (do work for industry as well as academic research). I am curious if anyone else has had experience in a university setting with this.

Also, in general, if anyone complies with both GLP and ISO standards since there are some differences.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Mike

TechMike,

Yes, IAS is one of the accrediting bodies operating in the U.S. that is internationally recognized, and has three or four University labs accredited under ISO/IEC 17025. The labs include Washington State Univ, Univ of Montana (Wood Science Lab), Univ of Maine, and one of the Universities in the Carolinas.
