Staying :topic: most true Mancs support Man City don't they? Anyway there is a disgusting myth in Football, that you must be born breed and die in your chosen teams area.

As you can see, I am from Hampshire, 220 miles (approx) from Anfield (home of Liverpool FC). I try and get to as many games as I can. My family was orginally from Merseyside and so my there is my association. However, I don't think I need that association. I LOVE mY TEAM!

Does travelling a round trip of 440 miles, on a Wednesday evening, ususally arriving home at 2.30am, show more commitment than walking a few yards every Saturday? Die hard season ticket holders are obviously committed, but they are the exception.

Anyway...........we have moved way off topic. I would be happy to share my views and argue with somone about this in another post or forum!

I have to say that you are lucky to be able to get tickets for games. I have been to Highbury for a total of one game this season and at £55 for the ticket I'm sort of glad that I can't get tickets for any more games than my one a season (not counting League Cup games). Even to be on the list to be on a list to get a season ticket now cost £8 at Arsenal and for what. You have to draw the line somewhere and for me that was it.

Gone are the days when you support the team down the road - Murdoch's millions have done for that. My nephews were born in Southampton and now live in Wales - one guess who they support though (despite their uncles desperate attempts to get them to realise that David Beckham wasn't that good a player)?

I have to say Manix, I admire your dedication (and I'm sure so does your bank manager!)

In 2002 the US hosted the World Cup, the quadrennial world championship of soccer. In honor of the occassion, I wrote the attached column for my local newspaper. And please remember--I WAS KIDDING!
