View Full Version : SPC Chart pro forma - Seeking word .doc or excel .xls spreadsheet
Denis 2nd June 2005, 06:56 AM Hi
I am implementing SPC within our manufacturing area. I don't have the luxury of buying any software, or of having any pc within the area to log the results in real time through the network.
It will have to be done the old fashioned way, on paper.
Does anyone have a pro forma (in word or excel) that I can print copies off.
Looking at average and range chart.
Thanks in anticipation.
Atul Khandekar 9th June 2005, 05:47 AM Hello Denis, I don't know where you can get such ready template.:( One suggestion is to search the forums here and you will find a number of Excel sheets posted by people. You can probably modify one to suit your requirement.
peteroldfield1971 9th June 2005, 08:51 AM Not sure what you are looking for but this might help!

Not quite sure what you are looking for.....x&R charts? (damm, one day I absolutely HAVE to install that font), capability analysis?, precontrol charts?, something else?
I have some of this (ok, I have ALL of the above) as Excel spreadsheets, but I don't know if it's what you're looking for.
Steve Prevette 9th June 2005, 07:18 PM I have an old Ford motor company book with some blank forms in the back. I'll take it home tonight and scan in the form. There is a copyright (1987) on the book, so I would be careful of copying the form, but you could use it as a basis for your own. Send me an email to my house then I can send you the scan directly.

Thanks very much, i'll be able to get these up and running soon. I knew that someone would have something compiled in xl that I could use.
TROBERT 24th June 2006, 12:56 PM Hi, I might have what your looking for. This is a working document that I implemented a few years back. This is very simple to use. Hope you can use it.

US copyright law does not allow copyrights to be claimed on blank forms, so don't worry!
I tried to add a citation, but the forum's anti-spam algorithm can't tell the difference between a spam link and a government website. Just google "copyright blank form" and it will be the first link (from the US copyright office, no less).

I've attached a PDF version of the information from the Copyright Office, which confirms your advice.

Hi Denis,
I have two simple calculators for SPC and MSA.These are free gifts from a friend of mine,a software engineer.I am enclosing these for the benefit of those, who do not have expensive softwares.

Denis 25th February 2008, 04:18 AM Thanks to everyone for their help.
I have been able to get a copy of MiniTab onto different individuals computers.
We have been transfering the data onto MiniTab and using the analysis tools etc.
Ideally, I would prefer to have the computers at the point of manufacture, but the cleanrooms are manufacturing a product in a micro environment with ATEX classification.
The MiniTab analysis seems to be working fine though.
bobdoering 23rd February 2009, 04:50 PM For those who come across this thread looking for Excel SPC chart, I have attached the X hi/lo-R chart in Excel. This chart is the correct chart for precision machining characteristics (lengths, diameters).
For more information on applying this chart to the precision machining process, see Statistical process control for precision machining (http://elsmar.com/Forums/blog.php?b=79)
