Hi all,

As a newby on this forum let me introduce myself. I am working as a Quality system coordinator for a breverage company of 100 peoples certified both ISO9001 and ISO14001.
I am to carry out an internal audit on the supply operations process tomorrow. As i am studying the different SOPs i am having trouble to get a broad picture of the process.

As anyone performing warehousing & distribution audit? DO you have a checklist or key questions corresponding to that process?
The SOP are complicated. What should i look at in priority?

Thanks so much for any comments :agree1:

Hi, tomlove, and welcome to the Cove. :bigwave:

If you are having a problem understanding the process at this stage in the audit game, I highly recommend a pre-audit tour. I do that with my own internal auditors who are new to auditing and/or new to the company.

You've got all the documentation explaining the process, so now you need to figure out where each document fits within the standard. That's probably the easiest way to approach this with such a short amount of time left before the audit starts.

If they talk, for example, about hiring trucking companies who will distribute the final product to customers, you may wish to look at Purchasing and how they verify/validate their trucking companies (i.e., ensure that they are suitable to work with).

Training - have people been trained on how to do the job...consistently and in the right manner.

Stuff like that....

Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply RCBeyette.
Unfortunately there is nobody around to really do a pre audit tour. It is the shutdown.
The only thing left i have is study the SOPs. But as i am reading deeper now they look easier.
Thanks again :tg:

Hello Tom, and welcome to the Cove :bigwave: What should i look at in priority? In addition to what Roxy already mentioned: Given the nature of your business I imagine that ISO 9001, clause 7.5.5 (Preservation of product) would be a big deal for you?

Our last ISO auditor visited our off site storage and we were hit with a nonconformity for incomplete temperature records and for not having a written procedure used by the off site storage company. Although, we did have printoffs to show no alarms for out of range temperatures occurred. Made it a minor nonconformity, not a "show stopper".

Another item they looked at was cleanliness of the site and review of the facility records for pest control.

Our company makes medical devices that are stored at 2-8C. Maybe temperature is not an issue to you. But sometimes the obvious things are overlooked in search of more critical issues.
