Good Morning All! :tg:

Would someone kindly take a moment and explain what the term "concession" means in regard to NC Product. Our consultant has produced a form with a section entitled "Section III-Concessions(Determined by Mgmt Rep). There are smaller sections as follows:

Concession Req'd - yes or no (if yes, explain)
Concession Authorization
Position
Department
Phone
Location
Concession Auth. Signature-Date
Mgmt Rep Signature-Date

Is this the customers opportunity to accept the product as produced even though it is NC or what?

Thanks! :thanx:

Yes this is the customers opportunity to accept the product as produced. Who is authorized to accept nonconforming product without rework or repair? In other words "Use As Is".

What Al said is correct. It is also your opportunity to accept raw amaterials that are nonconforming but that you can still use. For example, at my last company we may have ordered chemical A but what we received was chemical B. Now technically that s nonconforming product (ordered A received B), however, we can still use chemical B in other applications, so we accepted the "nonconforming product" as we could use it in other testing. Make sense??

I would also ask your consultant what is meant by the form that he produced and see what they tell you.

We dont have a "Form" to document - I am in the trucking industry and every shipment we have is tendered on a "freightBill: w/ a delivery receipt - If a cusotmer makes a notation with regards to condition of the shipment, damaged, short, etc, we use this as evidence of "concession by the customer" due to the fact the accepted in a conditon other than how it was tendered to us.
