Hello all,

When I calculate the effectiveness, miss rate and false alarm rate with the datas in MSA manual I found below results:
effectiveness miss rate false alarm rate
appraiser A 95 % (84 in MSA) 2 % (6,3) 3 % (4,9)
appraiser B 97 % (90) 2 % (6,3) 1 % (2)
appraiser C 90 % (80) 4 % (12,5) 6 % (8,8)

For example appraiser C has accepted 6 nonconforming pieces, I calculate his miss rate as (6/150)*100=4 %.

Could you please help me to correct this calculation.

In the above attachment on excel spreadsheet (long method sheet 1), the calculation on the mixed decision should be used 20-(100% matched good + 100% matched reject) instead of 50 - (100%matched good + 100%matched reject).

In this case, the mixed is to refer the sum of miss rate and false alarm.

There are no clear determination on how we calculate the mixed decision compare to the false alarm and miss rate in AIAG manual.

Are the mixed decision = false alarm and miss rate?
