Can anyone please provide an example of a visual work instruction? I am particularly interested in color codes, symbols and pictorials of an operation.

:thanks:

We use some, I tried to attach one but file size is 7MB and exceeds the limit of 2MB. Will try to e-mail it to you. Opps, saw you didn't list e-mail in Cove info
Send me an e-mail and I will respond

Here is what we use. It's an excel spreadsheet that is linked to other files with macros all over the place - so I've changed it to a PDF file.

I saw your work instruction and I liked would you e-mail the excel spreadsheet?
Thanks

Attached is a visual check sheet we use and that I have previously sent as an example.
Hope this helps

Have you flown on an airliner? Did you look at that instruction for the lifejacket and where the exits are? That's a great example of an almost purely visual instruction.

Here's an article I found on the subject: http://www.sme.org/cgi-bin/get-newsletter.pl?LEAN&20051209&3&

Here's one for doing a safety risk assessment. When used it has no verbage on it.

Nicely done, Ralph. Clean and simple to understand.

We use visual work instructions for our processes. The attached work instruction should give you some idea.

Nice example. Good use of visuals.
