View Full Version : South American Quality Standards - Mercosur - Buenas Practicas de Fabricacion

I'm having a problem locating a document (English version) and hoping someone here can point the way.

Several South American countries are part of an organization named Mercosur that seems to parallel the European Union. They've started using a standard called Buenas Practicas de Fabricacion (Good Manufacturing Practices) that draws from both ISO 9001 and the FDA/QSR and, while I don't expect any problems complying with the BPFs, I would like to read them.

My search turned up a Spanish version but my high school Spanish class doesn't help me at all.

Anyone have a clue where I could get a copy that's translated into English?

Thanks.

Alf

ALf,

Can't help with the translated version however, a thought. Why don't you post your request in the Spanish forum Marc recently started, or email the moderator, Elberth Ardila Tabera, at elardila@hotmail.com and see if they can help.

Good suggestion, Rick. Thanks.

I decided to look at the BPFs a little closer and found that they were written in 1993 and reference old ISO standards (e.g; ISO 9001:1987). They might not even be finalized yet (what's the Spanish word for 'draft'?).

I think I'll just let it be until I start hearing something more solid about them.

Thanks, again.

Muy Bueno Cerveza?

That's all I remember from Freshman Spanish and I still can't "speell" it correctly! I better go back for a refresher course.

Draft = borrador but I like Al's interpretation better.
