I have been told in past from the customers that when submitting PPAP package, Gage R&R and Material Cert shall be recent, meaning less than a year old. Where can I find these 1 year requirement in any of the QS/TS package?

You can't, because they are customer-specific requirements. BTW, as for material certs (test reports) the one-year requirement usually doesn't apply so long as the report is representative of the material used (i.e., if the material had been purchased and/or tested more than 12 months before PPAP submission).

As has been said, it is not there in black and white.

Our auditor gave me the best advice yet. He said as a minimum review each MSA result with each new PPAP. Do a new one if engineering judgment tells you to.

He said to treat each PPAP as an opportunity to refresh the system. He did not say MUST refresh, he said give it attention and draw a business conclusion.
