We have a problem here. one guy says the cut length is the inside circumefence, one guy says no. either way one says the part is ok, one says its two inches to short. so my question is if your inside cir. is 101.375 what is your cut length, keeping in mind that the walls are .562" around. this is a solid cord.
help...

Your cut length will be the circumference of the "neutral axis" of the product.

As this product is straightened the inner diameter is put under tension, and the outer diameter is placed under compression. These stresses are the greatest at the inner and outer surfaces. As you progress toward the inside of the product, these stresses drop to zero at the "neutral axis".

The location of this neutral axis is dependent on the cross-sectional geometry of the product. If it is a homogeneous material of symmetrical cross-section, the neutral axis will be in the center.
