Hello! I am new in this forum and as well as in the IT industry. I just want to know what are the best practices out there with regards to the user acceptance testing(UAT) environment. Based on the current practice in my company, UAT's are done on test environment but there are some clients prefer to have it on the production environment.

What is the difference between the two? And what are the advantages and disadvantages? Is there a standard specifying to which environment should the UAT be conducted?
