Hi everyone,
New to the forum here and have recently been tasked within my company to help in a Gap analysis from QS to TS. Unfortunately I just started the position in the Quality Department and have not been an intergral part of the internal auditing process for QS. I just recently participated in an Internal Auditor course for TS 16949 (the only one in the company) so technically I am the only one certified to perform our internal audits. Can anyone help me with a basic list of the key differences between the QS standard and the TS standard. All help will be rewarded with :applause: and:D
Thanks!

My sentiments exactly. What does RS mean?

Welcome to the Cove, Sharon.:bigwave: I haven't worked in the automotive field in quite a few years so I'm no help to you - but have a look in the Auditing forum and also at the bottom of this page are links to threads that may be helpful.

Have a look at this thread (http://elsmar.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=7110&highlight=differences+16949+9000), for example.

And Pilchard has some 'splainin' to do.

I have read some threads on this topic but have yet found an actual Gap analysis form that I can download (or view). If anyone on here has one could they email it to me?

Sharon, there is an 8-page matrix attached to post #7 on the thread I linked to earlier.

Also, I removed your e-mail address from your post to protect you from the spambots; Covers can contact you through your user profile information.

Sharon,
Also, AIAG publishes a booklet they list as CQI-7, titled ISO/TS 16949:2002 Implementation Guide. 200+ pages that include a comparison of QS requirements to TS, and vice versa. We used it extensively when we were upgrading our system to TS from being ISO 9001:2000 & QS-9000 registered. Good luck on your project.

You can also go to the Elsmar Cove Free Files directory (http://elsmar.com/pdf_files/) and scroll way down to TS where you'll see several files such as TS 16949 vs QS9000 Comparison.xls (http://elsmar.com/pdf_files/TS%2016949%20vs%20QS9000%20Comparison.xls) and TS16949 Implementation.doc (http://elsmar.com/pdf_files/TS16949%20Implementation.doc)
