I have this problem of getting chrome burning and yellowness in chrome bath. I have checked all the parameters of the bath:
HULLCELL PANEL ;
SULPHATE: 2.2-2.5Gm/L ;
CHROMIC ACID: 220-250 Gm/L
But the problem still persists. Any suggestions!!!!

I think burning is more likely to be a function of high current density or excessive dwell times, which might also be related to rack design. In other words, if you can't get the deposition thickness you need without leaving the parts in the tank so long that they start to burn, then you might have a racking or anode placement (or both) issue.

There were lots of times I dealt with platers and felt like I had gone through a time warp to some alchemist in the Dark Ages. I always turned to the pros at Metal Finishing Magazine to bring me back into present day. Check out their website (http://www.metalfinishing.com/) and don't hesitate to talk to chemical suppliers of plating fluids for advice - I always found them eager to help and a lot more scientifically grounded than the folks actually running current through the baths.

Truer words were never spoken. I had the good fortune many years ago to work in a high-quality precious metals plating business where a great deal of respect was paid to the science of electroplating. In the commercial zinc and chrome houses there's precious little of that sort of expertise.
