jasonschuetz 5th April 2006, 02:34 PM Millie - can you share the areas that they focused on, or areas that you would reccomend we re-audit prior to our initial assessment?
Marc 12th April 2006, 08:33 AM Hello Millie - Any feedback which might help others as jasonschuetz asks?
Sporty 17th April 2006, 03:15 PM We just finished our Stage 2 audit last week, with 4 minor n/c's found.
Our auditors seemed to focus on internal auditing. They really looked at the method used for audits, reviewed all three types of audit requirements, and 1 of my minors is for not reviewing the measureables of a process that was being audited.
Another weakness here was since I wrote up all of our process interactions, when the auditor sat with a process owner, and asked how their process worked, some owners really had to be coaxed into their answers. Although I sat with each owner and reviewed their process, there was not a good understanding of the process and it's measurables by the process owners.
Glad it's over!
Now for my next plant....

FlavioLima 19th April 2006, 01:47 PM Just adding one more company to this happy and successful thread. We got it too !!!!:agree1:
We had our second stage in last December and follow-up meeting in March and all corrective and containment actions were put in place and accepted by auditors.
One point leaves in a "gray area" for us:
(1) Second stage was in Dec,
(2) Follow-up was in March,
(3) Certification body published certification date as March,
(4) First surveillance is arranged to June. Is it correct ? Or should we arrange it to March plus 6 month? Or is real certification date Dec/05 ?
I thank in advance if anyone could help to indicate IATF rule to clarify this "little gray".
Best regards and congratulations to new members os ISO/TS16949 certificated companies.

Sidney Vianna 19th April 2006, 02:18 PM I thank in advance if anyone could help to indicate IATF rule to clarify this "little gray".Look at the figure available in paragraph 2.5 of the "Rules for achieving IATF recognition - Second Edition for ISO/TS 16949:2002" document. That should clarify your doubt. Your certification date is March 06, NOT December 05.

Hi, Flavio Lima
As IATF requirements, surveillance date would be calculated from real certification date. that means first surveillance date would be Dec/06 with tolerance of -3/+1 ( earlier 3months/later 1 month):)

howste 24th April 2006, 01:08 PM Sidney's got the certification date issue addressed - it should be March 06. Here's the applicable quote from the "Rules" document for the surveillance date:
9.3.1.5 The date of the first surveillance audit, following initial certification, shall be programmed from the end of stage 2 of the initial audit.

Hi, Howste
how are you going on?
Stage II audit was refer to site audit. Follow up activities should be completed within 90 days. so stage II completed in Dec 2005 although follow up completed in March 2006, the first surveillance would be still in Dec 2006 as calculation basing on end of stage II site audit.
howste 25th April 2006, 10:36 AM I think I was brain dead yesterday...
Clartsy 4th May 2006, 09:58 PM THis is a little bit confusing: our CB follows the schedule below:
(1) Stage 2 in May 2005
(2) Follow up in August 2005
(3) Certificate date as August; BUT
(4) the CB insisted the first surveillance (we use once surveillance per year frequency) must be before or on May each year, not August.
(5) on the certificate, the certification date is August 2005 and expiration date is May 2008, not August 2008.
Any comment?
CLARTSY
ralphsulser 5th May 2006, 09:34 AM Our registrar answered my same question. The 1st surveillance audit goes by the date of the Stage 2 audit, not date certification issued.

P_twww,
Thanks for answering my question. We'd request more info form CB about dates and period for surveillances (we'd programmed it each semester).
Best regards.
