Even if these are the 4:th edition I would recommend asking the costumer for the correct documentation.

I have seen differances even between plants. Some use a speciall reference number and so on. Some have 2 rows for article number and so on.

I found the best way to obtain the new PPAP forms is to order the APQP/PPAP forms disk from the AIAG for $250.00. They do not advertise the disk, but it is available. One you have them, you can revsie them anyway you need.

There are free updated PPAP forms at theQUALITYportal.com. Under Quality Tools click on 'Forms and Tools'. If you are small company like ours and can't spend the $$$$ every time the automotive people try to improve:confused: what they do.

Welcome to the Cove, Ninak:bigwave:

The control plan and process flow are addressed in the APQP manual and FMEA has its own book. They aren't directly addressed in the PPAP manual (except insofar as submission requirements are concerned.

Thank you for the welcome and the information. One of our Customers sent me an email stating that any newly submitted PPAP package must be complying to the 4th. edition. I have 7 PPAPs to prepare for the coming two months and I wanted to be 100% sure that I am doing the right thing.
Thanks again.

These forms are great! Thanks for posting.

On page 62-64 of the 4th edition PPAP manual, there is a Product/Process Change Notification form. Any idea where I can download a copy of that? As far as I know, it is not on the AIAG disk.

The form is THE-1002

Thanks!

Thanks Howard, that was my next step. Before I created it myself, I wanted to see if anyone else out there was using it or had a copy.

Thank you for posting the latest PPAP forms electronically.

Question: I have 7 manuals in the series originally purchased several years ago. I bought them in a group when I first began doing PPAP's. I was told these 7 books would be all I needed to begin my journey. They all have different printings and editions. For example the APQP manual is issued June 1994, Second printing. The FMEA manual I have is the third edition. Do I need to purchase new manuals too if so which ones and where do I get them? We are ISO 9001:2000 and trying to be a TS 'compliant' supplier.

Welcome to the Cove :bigwave:

The latest editions of the AIAG manuals that I have:

FMEA: Third Edition
APQP: June, 1994, Second Printing Feburary 1995 (new cover only--it's OK to have the first printing)
MSA: Third Edition
SPC: 2nd Edition

You can verify all by checking the AIAG website (www.aiag.org).

Welcome from me as well.
As with all books/standards etc the various handbooks are updated. The 7 pack that you bought, if it was for QS includes the standard and the Questionaire, for TS the standard and guidelines.
The 5 handbooks that Jim mentioned are needed for work with any customer that requires that you use them.

This is a good example of how you need to manage document control on external documents.

Hi, Could anybody tell me if the ASME symbols have suffered any change?, Can I have a document where I can find the right symbols (updtaed)? Thanks in advance for your support

So you are saying that the FMEA and what not are still at the third edition?

Each handbook has its individual edition, with no connection to the other. See the AIAG site to see this

Here are the latest editions of the AIAG manuals:

PPAP - 4th ed.
FMEA - 3rd ed. (but under revision from what I hear)
APQP - still 1st ed. (guess it's hard to improve upon)
MSA - 3rd ed.
SPC - 2nd ed.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Howard for the forms.

You also mentioned that you have the complete 4th Ed PPAP manual but it's too large to upload. I would like to get this manual if possible, if you could email me or some other way.

I am a new user to this site, actually a newbie to the whole auto quality sector. I did study the basics of QC in my mech eng program 10 years back but none of the other jargon like PPAP, APQP, FMEA, etc. So I am left to self-study by gathering books etc.

My basic objective is to get sufficient knowledge, through self-study, on these topics so that I can hit the ground running if I ever get into an auto mfg job (which I would like to have).

I am trying to gather some books/manuals on PPAP and APQP. I already have some material on FMEA. Can anyone share this material with me? It's quite expensive to buy this stuff if you are an individual shelling out money from your own pocket, not from your company's coffers.

I would really like to have the actual manuals for PPAP which Howard mentioned and APQP manuals.

Thanks for reading this.

Hi ady_mech and Welcome to the Cove!

The actual manual are protected by US copyright and can not be posted on this.

You may purchase them from AIAG.
