m-rome1 9th May 2006, 01:41 AM There are many ways to rate suppliers. It depends what way do you want to rate them (i.e. level of quality, level of environmental responsability, etc.).
The key is to keep it simple and send it to the right person who can accurately fill out the form. I can email you a copy of our quality supplier survey for your reference if you provide me with your email address.
Best regards,
M
mshell 11th May 2006, 05:38 PM We simply determine what is important to our organization (on-time delivery, accuracy, customer service) and rate them based on those items. We are able to pull delivery and accuracy reports from our manufacturing software. All other items are evaluated by the employee that deals with the particular supplier on a regular basis.
ganglai 15th May 2006, 07:38 AM You can give a weight to each criteria and sum them up. Criteria we use are On-Time-In-Full, product quality, Documentation ( including product identification, delivery docket...) and customer service.

Coury Ferguson 15th May 2006, 10:14 AM As everyone has said you need to determine what is important to your organization. I use the following: Delivery Date, Contract to Need Date, and Quality

anoop_mahajan 5th June 2006, 02:02 PM I agree that it depends on what you want to acheive through rating your suppliers. Dont fall in the trap of rating suppliers just because everyone else does it. The correct way to approach it would be to find out what are the CTQs for your organisation and then try and define them in terms of metrics.
A good way to start would be to rate suppliers on basis of Quality, Delivery performance, Cost and Partnership. For a scorecard with 100 points, Quality and Delivery could be assigned 35 each and Cost and Delivery 15 each.
Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Jim Wynne 5th June 2006, 03:31 PM Why is delivery counted twice?
Because there's no way to quantify "partnership"? :D

Al
That was a typo...I meant
Quality - 35 points
Delivery - 35 points
Cost - 15 points
Partnership - 15 points
It is kinda tricky to assign points in partnership, but an effort needs to be made to quanitfy it. Points could be assigned based on things like
- Does the supplier go out of his way to help you ?
- Does he try and accomadate changing demands ?
Sorry for the earlier mistake. I was trying to find out if people are awake on this forum :tg:

Why? You shouldn't force quanitification onto a category that can't be quantified.

Welcome to the Cove, lancer59! :bigwave:
Try using the search function, up in the blue tool bar beside "Quick Links." I entered in 'supplier scorecard' and received this (http://Elsmar.com/Forums/search.php?do=process&query=supplier+scorecard).
Al Rosen 10th July 2006, 05:30 PM As an example
QF=Quality Factor = # of accepted lots/Total # of lots.
SF = Service Factor = No of shipments on time/total # of shipments.
CF = Cost Factor = lowest $ cost/$ Cost of part
Then:
the Vendor rating = Quality Weighting*QF = Service weighting*SF + Cost weighting*CF
Vendor Rating = (.4*QF + .3*SF + .3*CF)*100
Of course you can use your own weighting for the individual factors.

Try performing a search in the search block not the quick link and enter "Supplier Scorecards" "I just did that it showed numerous scorecards as attachments
