View Full Version : Thanks flag? Wes Bucey 23rd May 2006, 08:44 PM What's the new data set in the upper right corner with the karma and rep data? How does it get populated? See thumbnail. Marc 23rd May 2006, 08:48 PM Well, look at the bottom of posts next to the 'quote' button (not installed in the moderators forum) and you'll see a 'Thanks' button. It's a 'hack'. AJAX Post Thank You Hack (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92410) Now - To see if it works... Marc 23rd May 2006, 10:04 PM BTW - I moved this to the public forum because it's a new feature. Discussion welcome. Good idea or bad? Govind 24th May 2006, 12:11 AM Well, many users who may not find time to reply in full yet want to thank the reply poster can now just click thanks. I thanked marc for adding this feature and for providing the forum. I think it is quick nice recognition for the reply provider. Good idea. Regards, Govind. Marc 24th May 2006, 12:14 AM Well, many users who may not find time to reply in full yet want to thank the reply poster can now just click thanks. That's sorta how I looked at it when I thought about installing it. The 'Karma' (aka Reputation) aspect of the software is nice, but I thought this might be more apt to be used. The 'Karma' (aka Reputation) aspect of the software is nice, but I thought this might be more apt to be used.I'll really be interested in seeing the frequency of use - this could be more useful than karma because readers other than the poster will be able to see the thanks for a particular post versus "general karma." Claes Gefvenberg 24th May 2006, 03:48 AM Certainly worth trying. :agree1: /Claes SteelMaiden 24th May 2006, 09:19 AM I think this is a great idea, some days (weeks) I just don't get the time to post or write a thank you in the karma feature, this makes it really easy to click a quick thanks! Marc 24th May 2006, 09:41 AM It is also set to add 10 points to a poster's 'Karma' when someone thanks them for a post and/or attachment so it does interface with the Karma (aka Reputation) system. It is only visible to, and useable by, registered visitors, BTW. |
