Thank in advance Jim Wynne 3rd June 2006, 11:26 AM Hi to everyone up there, how to devide between external and internal suppliers for Ford. Thank in advance Welcome to the Cove:D We'll need a little more information. What are you trying to "divide"? Is there a specific Ford requirement that you're trying to deal with? Tell us about it and I'm sure that someone here will be able to help. patricio10 3rd June 2006, 11:32 AM Hi, The PPAP reference book describes under Ford specific instructions: Part Approval Activity: external (STA) and internal suppliers (FAO quality office office). We are delivering to Brose and not direct to Ford. Is our contact department STA or FAO - and what is the different between them ? Hasta luego kbg1000 5th June 2006, 01:19 PM This is a result of Ford applying the same requirements to external (Tier 1) suppliers as to themselves. The "internal suppliers" referred to are Ford part plants supplying other Ford plants (engine plant supplying an assembly plant for example). An internal Ford group, FAO, acts as supplier quality contact for Ford plants. Ford STA works with external suppliers to Ford. Since you say you are actually a supplier to Brose, your supplier quality contact should be someone from Brose, and not anyone from Ford. However, if you're a directed supplier to Brose then maybe Ford STA would work directly with you. You should ask Brose for clarification. |
