Hello everyone i am new to this but i have a few questions. i am a quality engineer at a small plating and and painting shop doing work for some of the primes.

1st question how do i do a FMEA for process planning
2nd do i have too.

Welcome to the Cove :agree1:

If I understand you correctly, FMEA is included in process planning, so no, a separare FMEA for the FMEA isn't necessary.

Thank you Jim for the welcome. i created a flow chart for Process Planning (Travelers) and the quality manager want me to also do a FMEA for Process planning. now some variable such as contract review i.e p/o and b/p errors, how do i use that information on FMEA

FMEA isn't a process that can be done effectively by a single person. You need to understand the potential failures of each process or operation, and the best way to gain that understanding is to involve the people responsible for them. Although there might be some generic types of errors or failures in generating POs and blueprints, there is information unique to your company that you can access only by involving the people who do those things.
