For the most part having good procedures, a separate place to keep incoming until it is checked, a separate place to keep non-conforming until it is dispositioned, and good inspection procedures will take care of the incoming.

For supplier issues, have a procedure. If you are going to inspect suppliers often then also consider having that function seek accreditation under ISO/IEC 17020. Your accrediting bodies (CNAL and HKAS) both can provide that accreditation.

Hope this helps.

In addition to Hershal's post.

Read your procedures and determine if they represent what you do.
Make sure that someone has performed a thorough internal audit of your area.
Ensure that there is consistency between personnel that work in your areas in completing forms and processing work.
Determine who your key suppliers and whether the controls in place are working. Are there a lot of Nonconformances and late deliveries?
What are the objectives for your process?

I hope this helps.

Questions for thought:

Have you been audited (internal audit or external audit) for Incoming Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Assurance before?

If so, have you had problems during an audit (internal audit or external audit) with Incoming Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Assurance in the past?

If so, is the the same problem recurring??
