View Full Version : Service Quality at its best? Telephone line supplier

I recently changed my telephone line supplier which people do from time to time. As there was an existing line, all the company had to do was switch it on. They did this on the agreed date at the time they specified. Excellent service I hear you say.

30 minutes later the telephone company phoned me on the new line to ask me if the line had been switched on? :lmao:

I really felt like saying "I'm not sure could you ring me back in 20 minutes and I'll let you know."

I think the idea was to test the line was working, but it was the question that was asked that made me laugh, however I was curious as to any other faux pas that had been made that others had experienced.

My partner is a barraster at law and she was once involved in an incident where someone's father had passed away. The family had a letter some 4 weeks later from the local council (who had been notified of the death) telling them that if the rent was not paid up to date for the deceased he would be evicted from the property.

It really does make me wonder who is responsible for quality in these organisations and how these people get employed let alone keep their jobs.
Any thoughts or comments?

Any thoughts or comments? Is the job of a barraster similar to that of a bareass-ter (someone whose job is to embarrass others in lawsuits)? Does a barraster have to hire a barrister to protect from nasty retribution lawsuits?;)

Welcome to the Cove, streider!:bigwave: We don't start the real hazing of newbies until the work week begins and we have a bigger audience!:biglaugh:

Another type exist in "Knew-this" camps. Saw colonies of them at Bondi Beach, Australia when I was there several years back. ;) ;)
