View Full Version : Calibration Standards and Typical Accuracy Requirements for Force Gauges corollax 17th July 2006, 11:49 PM Hi, are there any international standards for the calibration of force gauges? I need to find out the typical accuracy requirements of force gauges. Thanks. Hershal 18th July 2006, 05:26 PM What kinds of gages specifically? I gather you do not mean load cells, universal test machine, etc. Hershal corollax 18th July 2006, 09:55 PM 2 types please... a) push-pull force gauges (say 0~25kN capacity) b) load cell system (say 100kN capacity) Any cal stds for the above? Thanks. Hershal 19th July 2006, 02:32 PM I'm not sure about any international standards for force gages..... In the U.S., calibration of force is typically accomplished under ASTM E 4 (testing machines) or E 74 (load cells). Military procedures (USN NA 17-20 series or USAF T.O. 33K series) procedures also are used, mostly for the push-pull hand-held types devices. If you are seeking a cal lab to calibrate the items, I do know a good one in the Pacific NW. If you are wanting to do the cal, then hopefully this information helps a bit. Hershal |
