So one of my main objectives and a key reason for being hired in this company is to lead the company through ISO9001 registration process.

I am fortunate enough to have an excellent Document Control guy reporting to me. Even better the plant QC Manager (who also reports to me) is not at all threatened by my hiring and itching to learn everything I have to teach.
I'm a very excited to be finally kicking this off as it's been a long wait and I've already put a lot of planning into it as well as writing some of the key procedures already.

My immediate boss also has enthusiasm and a good degree of trust in me and my experience.

Now here are the potential stumbling blocks... The owner and his right hand operations guy. The owner is just not a very trusting person and his operations guy often acts like a flapper in the Gulliver's Travels books.
The owner realizes there is a definate need a better documented QMS as we try to get more product CE marked and ASME registered.
But he tends to micromanage processes and has trust issues. Part of my goal is to get him out of as many decision loops as possible.
And his operations guy... well... All I can say is that I can see future auditors writing a lot of CARs for processes he's going bypass. He is of the attitude that all your past experience is invalidated because it wasn't with this company.

Well - I think it's doable. I have my kickoff meeting presentation just about done. Just have to decide on the last memmers of an implementation team.

Should be fun.
