Just Curious.

:cool: What MSA studies do you include in PPAP level 3?

Lineality, Stability, GRR?

What of them are mandatory?

In my last company we used to send only the GRR to Visteon and Delphi and they accepted, but in my oppinion this is not enough, minimum Lineality + GRR are required.

Whether not imaging this scenario.

We meassure a part of 10mm +-0.5mm of length with a Calliper.

If we did a GRR imagine that this Calliper would meassure:

7.01 7.02 7.01 7.01 7.01 7.01 7 7.01 7.01 7.02 7.01 7.01 7.01 7.01 7 7.01 ... -> GRR=1 -> gage OK to use

Sure enough with this patter the GRR will be great, Caution, therefore lineality is also mandatory to have accuracy of all the range of the Calliper and validate the meassurement system

So I would add both errors, I would ask AIAG to create a new Global GRR templete.

I have only seen GRR submitted.
In tend to belief that if the calibration is performed regularly and at ISO17025 level then the linearity should be not a problem

Thanks Howard for your opinion, I believe the same but I would include this calibration certificate in the PPAP.
