Hello everybody,
I am designing an internal auditor training course. The course includes 3 workshops (audit planning, checklist preparation and nonconformity reporting). For the third workshop I need some NC cases to let participants decide whether there is a nonconformity, report the NC and specify the relevant clause of ISO 9001. Can anyone help?

You might save yourself a lot of trouble. There are already materials out there - like the Technicomp one. It's based on accredited class materials too.
Just a thought.

See Auditing a QMS (Quality Management System) (http://elsmar.com/Audit/) for some thoughts.

I have one that I developed for Internal Auditor's training. I am modifying it and it could change. It is 61 Slides (I have presented this in 1.5 Days) and I do have a test to, but it was done a few years ago and is more based upon Procedures than processes. Remember, this is being updated. I will post it once I have gotten some input. It will most likely be posted in a couple of weeks. But, it you must have it sooner, then PM me with your email, and I will provide you with the presentation.

The best advice I can offer is to create senarios based on your business systems. I'm sure you have had or can anticipate typical (and non-typical) situations that generate nonconformances.
Several years ago I developed our program using the Technicomp program as the basis and then customizing the document and references to our own. Yes this is a bit time consuming, but worth it in the long run as the people you are training will have more buy-in and understanding using system and references they are familiar with.
You didn't mention how you will be evaluating the results of the training. This is a critical step. What I did was set up a written exam as Part 1 with a passing grade of 80% needed to continue. Part 2 was an internal audit with me as Lead auditor and they are evaluated on their participation and skills throughout the process. I used a 10, 15 and 20 pts scale for 5 areas:
1. Planning
2. Conducting
3. Reviewing audit information and determining nonconformaties
4. follow-up of corrective actions
5. team or group participation.
Proficiencey scales started at 10 due to 'knowledge' established in written exam. 80% or higher required to pass this phase. Scale:
10 pts - Had knowledege but didn't particpate/demonstrate abilities
15 pts - Demonstrated limited knowledge adn/or participation
20 pts - Fully participated & demonstrated techniquest/abilities
Over time proficiencey improves but audit trainees must be willing to step up and do their part in the practical exam phase.
Well that's my $ worth for now.
Best regards, E Wall

Dear E Wall,
Could you plz send me a customized example in order to give me some ideas.
Thank you in advance,

You would probably be better off if you design one and post it here as an attachment and ask for a 'critique' by others here rather than ask for one customized for you.
