I believe that Consumer Reports had a test about a year ago. It would be a good idea to do some research, because I remember that the results of the various units varied widely, from expensive lawn ornament to certain depopulation of the species (well, almost). I don't remember their "Best Buy" though.

Thanks Craig, I went to comsumer reports but their models were from 2003. None of the models that Costco sells. Also I went to Amazon and searched through ratings there but they were very inconsistent with the product sometimes having 5 stars and sometime having only 1. I was hoping to hear something first hand by a Cover. The West Nile issue here in Idaho is getting serious. It's only a matter of time before more cases spread to other states.

Dear Friends,

I learn from my good friend Dr. Margaritta Correa that EM (Effective/Efficient Micro-organism)Technology has been successfully used by her in controlling mosquitos in the Darjeeling Hills, thereby reducing the incidence of Malaria and the resultant deaths. I am attaching a few documents received from Margaritta so that this information may be used by those who are interested in the subject. I was a skeptic when I first heard from Margaritta about EM and its use as industrial hazardous waste treatment technology; after experiencing myself the effect of EM in soil remediation and seeing the results in agriculture in Thailand, I believe that it is a cost effective and efficient technology for addressing quite a few of our problems of today.

Hope to have been of some help,

With best wishes,

Ramakrishnan

As far as I know, they work pretty well and have done so for many years.
