View Full Version : Does anyone have a Template of Failure Modes for Machining Operations?

I am looking for an excel file that has common failure modes for general machining operations and their associated causes. i.e.

Bore Diameter Oversize

*Tool Wear
*Input of Incorrect Offset

Bore Diameter Undersize

*Tool Wear
*Input of Incorrect Offset

etc....

I would like to be able to cut and paste into FMEAs

Thanks

Welcome to the Cove :bigwave:

I don't have a template in Excel (mine is in a database) nor do I use spreadsheet software for FMEAs. I should think it would be a fairly simple exersize (although somewhat time consuming) to build a "template". I am a little surprised no one has offered a template as I know there are many Covers using spreadsheets.

Try using the post attachment list in the upper left corner or perform a search as I did to find this attachment.

We also use a database linked to a Word template. Many times we may have to add some failure modes but it will generate a decent FMEA to start with.
