Hope this is in the correct forum. I am in need of a 72" (min) digital read out LLM for the shop floor and was wondering if anyone has a good source on a used one? I would also like to find a better deal than I have on a 40" twin bar digital height gage which I found for around $3200.

This is in no way a plug for them (not to mention there are many thousands of vendors there anyway), but ebay may be a place to check. I run a multi-discipline high volume lab recently set up, and have had to procure a lot of standards for the lab. I haven't yet bought anything from ebay, but when I want a low price that is one place I do check.

Another place you might check (never know when they may have something) is www.govliquidation.com (also not a plug for them, as this is not a commercial forum). I "believe" they are the official selling site for government surplus items. There is quite a lot there (although not sure whether they have what you're looking for).

The third used place that sometimes has some good used items is www.dovebid.com. This sells items when large companies close factories and other large volume used sales (also, not a plug for them).

I do not endorse any of the above, just listing all of the places I look for things, or know of. There are many places I look for electronic test equipment (very long list). But for dimensional tools, I don't have much background in finding used items. To keep this forum neutral to any particular dealer, I would be interested in seeing if anyone reading this may have a "long list" of used dimensional used dealers on the web.

Thank you for the tips Jerry. For the record I do not want anyone to endorse a certain product nor company for this post.I ran out of places to look and figure someone here may be able to point me in the right direction.
