I hope that this is the right forum to ask this question...If not I apoligize in advance.

I am working on a problem for a continuous improvement cost reduction, and I cannot figure out how to calculate the savings. My problem is in the metric conversion.

What is known:

Cost decrease of 0.019€ per Square Foot

I want to calculate the cost savings based on 2005 production of 1,200,728 which is measure in Square meters

My brain is dead....How can I calculate the savings? I am slightly embarressed that I cannot figure this out, but I am justifying this based on I was once told "There is no such thing as a stupid question." I hope this applies here.

Thank you in advance.

No, do not worry. It's not a stupid question and there's no need to apologize!

I found this online (gotta love Google) for you. http://www.nymex.com/calc_general.aspx

I hope this helps!

Here's another alternative way to find conversions online. Simply go to Google and type the question into the search box.

"convert 1,200,728 square meters to square feet" provides the answer:

1 200 728 (square meters) = 12 924 528.6 square feet

This works for a wide variety of conversions. :agree1:

Welcome to the cove
I have a conversion tool but it is an executable file ( .exe ) which is not allowed to attach here. ( for reasons I can completely understand )
Maybe the following can help you :

If I convert the 0.019 from square foot to square metres I have the following :
O.O19 sqf = 0.001765158 sqm
or
1 sqf = 0.09290304 sqm

Hope this helps

Best regards,
Antoine
