View Full Version : Condensed Procedures Manual for AS9100 Rev B - Do they Exist?

:) Greetings:

I am looking for a AS9100 Rev B package that will produce a condensed procedures manual. I heard that some companies have AS9100 Procedures manual sets that are under 30 pages for the entire procedures manual that is 100% compliant. Is that possible and where can I purchase software to do this?

Thank you in Advance!
Dr. Kava :)

Are you looking for canned procedures?

As to a procedures manual of under 30 pages, it depends upon the complexity of what you do. Can you be more specific?

Hello Dr. Kava and welcome to the Cove,

First - I must ask you not to post the same question in multiple forums. I have deleted your other posts, as they ask the same question.

Now - to answer your question - yes - these are available - but they are what we call "canned" packages. They are not tailored to your way of running your business - just generic types of procedures. I see you registered as the CEO of your company. Your money would much better spent creating a set of documents that reflect what you actually do.

Lots of luck and don't hesitate to ask more questions.

I agree. Typically 'Canned Procedures' are OK as 'reference' documents for you to look at and get ideas from, but are, by their very nature, generic.

A lot of times people buy canned procedures and adapt their systems to the documents when they could (should) just document what they do, if they haven't already.

Greetings:

What our company is looking for is a starting point with templates for each section or procedure to get us started. We have a good manual set, however due to the size/bulk over 175 pages people tend to not read or follow them. We used excellent software in tha past (Powerway), however I am sure something out there is better with more content and less bulk?

Thank you and if you could please help us with information that would be much appreciated!

Regards,
Bill:thanks:

Bill,

175 pages, for a 45 person operation???? Bulk is an understatement!

I don't know much about the AS9100 standard, but my guess is your current system is full of a lot of unneccessary fluff that you get with "canned" document packages.

I suggest you take what you have and trim the fat -
