I am a Quality Manager for a fastener distributor looking to create a Supplier Manual for my company.
My question is what specific content should be included?
I have PPAP requirments, Purchasing Agreements, delivery, quality of product, etc.
I am trying to make this as simple as possible (no 100 page manual) but I also want it to reflect both supplier issues and a certain degree of professionalism.:nopity:
If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
Also any examples would help if possible:thanx:

Hi JP :bigwave:

A good place for you to start off with is what are your main products? Obviously fasteners, but mainly focus on what your core business is. If your fasterners are bolts, nuts screws etc... You should probably focus on your foundrys who make the bolts screws etc...

A few things to consider:

*For any of your sub-contracted manufacturing see links below:
*Fastener Quality Act (FQA), Public Law 106-34
http://ts.nist.gov/ts/htdocs/230/235/FQA/fqa.htm
http://www.nist.gov/public_affairs/releases/tn6119.htm

*Material Testing hardness, tensile, charpy, chemical etc...at your suppliers foundries
*Material Certifications with samples to be tested at 3rd party labs periodically
*Process Audits of suppliers who provide you with critical fasteners etc...
*Are your customers AUTO, AERO, MIL ETC...?
*Special markings and/or stampings
*Are your suppliers ISO certified?
*What are your customer requirements vs what does your company guarantee

I think this should get you started I hope.:cfingers:
