I am looking for a method of measuring how sharp the edge of a machined part is. Ive heard of a method using a strip of multi-layered multicolored plastic. Any info will be appreciated.

Iīve never seen the IEC standard for toys but i think it can come from it. Anyway, search google for "sharp edge tester" (thereīs a site http://www.sharpedgetester.com/ but i am not sure if i can post links here, it can be removed so google is the best way). I have a customer that suggested this tool. It costs around $350.00 USD. I told management that I didn't feel it was cost value added. It is basically a Tape Dispenser with thin tape to check sharpness. But it would work if the company felt it was cost value added. :notme: |
