I need to fix a cut in a leather seat (car seat). Has any Cover ever used one of the products "AS SEEN ON TV" or commercially available and could give me feedback on it's results?

If you don't feel sure about posting your experiences publicly, feel free to PM me.
:thanks:

What I saw in the past 'On TV' was vinyl material repair. I don't remember any leather repair solutions other than a 'professional'.

I have a (now very old) black leather jacket, down filled, which was ripped. I took it to a local cleaner that specifically advertised leather repair and they had to send it out, but it came back looking like new. That was something like 10 to 15 years ago. I still have and wear the leather jacket and there is, as of last year, a wear tear (the first one was from a rip when I fell {long story}), but the original repair is still holding.

A car seat sees a lot of stress, so... Good luck!

A professional quality repair kit for relatively small repairs costs $50 or $60.

I watched an automobile detailing guy fix a small (1 inch) cut (very clean cut, like a tool in a pocket or something similar) in the passenger side of a Cadillac while my car was going through a regular wash. The guy made it look easy. The whole repair took less time than for my car to go through the wash and the worker to clean the inside windows and floor mats.

The "goop" is a kind of plastic. This guy used the color right out of the bottle - no mixing.

In my opinion, if an auto detail place or car dealer will fix your torn seat for less than $100.00, let them do it instead of trying to learn a new trade.

Yes - I agree. They may even have a guarantee of some sort.

How long and how wide is it? We use a repair kit on our furniture for minor cuts. If you can provide the above, I may be able to help you out.

You know, there's a joke in here some where....How many Cove members does it take to fix a leather seat?

I don't know how many cove-ers it takes to repair a leather seat...the only experience I have with leather repair consists of doctoring injured horses
