View Full Version : Strategies for reducing Sampling on incoming bulk material - low volume, ingots

We have incoming material that is low volume, comes in as a bulk material ingot (large solid piece that is cut into chuncks to make parts), but very stable. We currently measure 100% and I am wondering how we could reduce sampling to a periodic basis. Perhaps a few times per month? Any thoughts on how I can calculate an appropriate sampling plan?

Thanks in advance,

Steve.

Steve,

Best to start with a review of your supplier history. Any chance you can do a "dock-to-stock" certification on your suppliers?
Then set-up a periodic "audit" of their shipments.
