I got a question I can't answer completely. I think it is interesting enough for public consumption. I have noticed an extra quotation option under the posts. Can you explain to me what it means when you click on it and it changes shape?

Also, how do people get multiple quotes on a post?Up until today, I have been making multiple quotes in a message box by clicking on the quote icon

in the tool bar and copying and pasting text in multiple quote boxes, interspersing my own text in betweenWes Bucey is a cool guy! That's a marvelously astute quote.I have noticed an extra quotation option under the posts. I never noticed this box http://elsmar.com/Forums/images/buttons/multiquote_off.gif (http://elsmar.com/Forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=172312) in the bottom right corner of a post until it was brought to my attention today. So - how does it work? I've clicked on it, but I don't see a difference from clicking on the regular quote icon http://elsmar.com/Forums/images/buttons/quote.gif (http://elsmar.com/Forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=172312)

It's a multiple quote icon. It has been there but looked different. If you click it it should change to look like this: http://elsmar.com/Forums/images/buttons/multiquote_on.gif.

You can click the multi-quote button on several different posts in a discussion thread, and then the quote button, and in that way quote several different posts in one reply.

Clearly one of the best new features in the latest upgrade :agree1:

Here is a good Tutorial on Quoting Posts in vBulletin (http://discuss.infidels.org/faq.php?faq=vb_quotes101)

Yes it is. And yes, thanks Marc. There were a couple of things in that Vbulletin post I had not thought of before. The idea of putting a link if you quote something several pages back is a decent idea.:agree1:

The only thing about the multi-quote is that it puts the quote in a strange order (for me, anyway). Is it relevant the order with which you choose the quotes?

Is it relevant the order with which you choose the quotes?I don't think it matters, but when someone is posting it might suit their train of thought to put quotes in a specific order.
